    Hi,

My 14 month old LG LS50-8 (also know as LS50-N14A) suddenly stopped working mid screen. Now it doesn't POST. I have DVD spin, fans but no POST or boot.

It is agonisingly just out of warranty (but I will be following this up) so I took to my local PC repair man who after a lot of testing and replacing of parts concluded that the motherboard has failed.

    Not good news.

So I am considering my options. I will chase LG in Australia (but I am now living in the UK temporarily so this could be problematic)

But if they don't come to the party I would consider replacing the motherboard myself - LG won't give me the specs.

Does anyone know what the Motherboard model is on this laptop ? Or what alternatives there are ?

    Any other suggestions ?

    Thanks

    JD

The motherboard will probably be made by LG :(

Are LG products sold in the UK?
If they are, find are service center... the 1yr warranty is international.
