I just bought the notebook and so far it's going great! However, there is one downside of this notebook that I don't like, and I am inclined to belive that this little booboo can be configured and fixed, it's just that I don't know how to. That downside I am trying to convey is its brightness appearance.

Whenever I turn on the notebook I would always turn up the brightness to max with the Fn + Home Keys. After doing so, the screen will automatically go dimmer after I leave it on for a few seconds of idle. The brightness goes down in levels from bright to dim, until it gets back to its original brightness, which is not very bright at all. Upon touching the pointing device or any of the keys, the brightness will return back to its maximum brightness that I had previous set.

If anyone owning this notebook that knows how to set this notebook so that it will always stay bright even on idle, a suggestion would be most appreciated.

Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.
    Shinie.

    Hi Shinie,

Aren't these notebooks crazy. I recon so.
OK when i first got the notebook i was the same with you. One question i have to ask is are you running this notebook on battery. Beacause if you are its apart of the LG power management called Battery Miser, here you can control the functions on the brightness of the screen. Have a look at it the task bar its three round circles. Then have a look under the Monitor settings. That there should be able to control the brightness of the screen.

I usually always run it with the power plug and it still happens.

Have you tried the Battery Miser program?

Yes there is a function in the LG Battery Miser setup in the monitor section called auto-brightness (or similar) - you can set it up to never dim the screen with mains power and you can also lengthen the time before it dims when using battery power.
There are a lot of settings and all are configurable for both mains and battery power.
