    Hello everyone,

I'm currently in a very difficult situation which to purchase. The past few months I've been searching for a notebook mainly for programming/light photoshop use/etc...(Mainly work/school use/Light gaming). This will also be used as a desktop replacement, will be walking around with it and I will be using the laptop constantly. Lastly, I plan on using the laptop for atleast 3+years - Reason why I choose LG since they make quality notebooks.

I was about to purchase the LG LM50; however, LG recently came out with the LG LW60 and I like all the specs and I feel somewhat lost which to purchase now lol.

    Here are the specs:

    $2,372.99 Canadian - LG LM50-CVWU1 Dothan 1.8GHz 512MB 80GB 15"SXGA+ DVD/CDRW

    or

    $2,459.99 Canadian - LG LW60-DBMU1 Dothan 1.73GHz 512MB DDR2 60GB 15.4"WXGA DVDRW

I kind of prefer the LG LM50 since it has 80HD (I have 50gigs of mp3's which I wish to transfer) - but at the same instance, I do have an external laptop HD (60HD) where I might as well put all my mp3's. Can anyone please help me decide which to purchase?

LM50 all the way...it's lighter so will be good for your back (trust me...I'm carrying a brick right now (Dell Inspiron 8100))...perfect for your usage...it has a better (in term of resolution and britness) you won't need to buy 3yrs warranty ..save that money for a extra battery. If you feel lost...wait...price will drop when school starts
LM50 looks better and slimmer...just like you would prefer a woman ;)

If you are going to get the LM50, I'd suggest looking into the LM70 as well

I say the LW60,just because it has a wide glossy screen, you wont regret it! it's not that much heavier.

Ya, I was looking at the LG LM70; however, it's currently 3000$+ Canadian and I only have a budget of $2900-3000 ...unless anyone knows a place where I can pay monthly or some sort of rate?

I might as well settle with the LG LM50

    Thanks Again.

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to buy an LM70. When do you think the price will start dropping?

It seems that LG is working on a new line...

    From ATI
"Radeon Xpress 200M for Intel will be available through leading OEMs and ODMs such as NEC, Asus, Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Mitac and LG."

Also windows x64 will be out soon...and maybe we'll a 64 bit intel processor...

Wait? I'm actually in dire need of a laptop since I need it for school/work asap. I honestly don't think I'll need a PCIE for my current usuage. However, as you stated it will drop 2500~... I'd really like to know rougly when those prices will drop... I've been waiting too long lol. Man, buying a laptop is like purchasing a car. [ :(!]

I'll be purchasing the LG LM50 this coming week or so, I don't really need a PCIE card for my current usuage; however, a DvD burner would have been really nice.

I finally purchased the LG LM50 and simply love it to death - it basically has everything I want (Keyboard, screen, etc...). Can anyone direct me where to purchase a nice sleeve for it since I have a hard time finding it in stores.

    Thanks in advance.
