This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    LG Canada Service experience

    I figured I'd post a quick note about my experience with LG tech support here in Canada.

    The area were the casing meets my screen above one of the hinges had something between the screen and the casing, I'm not sure what or how it got there, but the result was that the casing came out a little bit from the screne... I let Jeff know and he got somebody from LG technical support to call me at work and give me their Puralator account number with shipping instructions. The techy claimed a 3 day turnaround with shipping paid both ways (1 day shipping each way, plus a day to fix the notebook)

    The problem wasn't that big of a deal and I needed my notebook so I put it off for awhile, but I finally did send it back - I sent it on a tuesday afternoon and got it back friday morning, fixed! 4 days, but I did send it in the afternoon :)

    Hopefully things won't change much now that LG will be marketing toward the US market as well.
