It's such a shame that a 10.6" 2.5lb notebook packed with respectable discrete graphics does not have a thread for itself.

1.5 months with the machine and I'm absolutely loving it...
Here's a review I posted to kickstart the discussion on your experiences.

Weird...No C1 owners (which IMHO is a kick a$$ machine that beats the super-hot Sony TZ hands-don) on this forum

it's a tablet alright but I use it almost all the time as a regular laptop
what helped perhaps is that it probably cost less than what a non-tablet of this size and specs would cost

if i could afford one, i would certainly take the c1 over the sony tz any day....but unless you plan on selling me yours for around $1000, i somehow don't see the c1 in my future. ;)

hehe, I think a $1700 price for this (whichi is what I paid for it), even though high as an absolute figure was still a steal...

the only crib I have so far is there is barely any space below the keyboard to work as a palmrest

Picked up the C1 a couple days ago. Quick review:
    Pros:
    Size
Processor speed (though I did put in a 1GB ram chip to supplement the 512MB on board memore)
Screen is pretty bright - not a let down

    Cons:
    Keyboard too stiff
Lack of PCMCIA slot (Express cards aren't readily available in India yet)
Battery life on the 3 cell - mine lasts around an hour tops
Screen doesn't rotate in table mode - or maybe I haven't figured out how to get it to rotate

The long and short of it - well worth the buy, though for this price, I would have expected better finish. The black plastic surrounding the screen looks pretty tacky.

you need to press the fn + (last key on left) on the bezel to toggle the screen mode

I get arnd 2 hrs on the 3 cell and I picked up a 6 cell too which gives arnd 4 hrs

For a core Duo/Go7300 setup, i think that is pretty fair (the 4 hrs, not the 2 ;) )

As for your 1 hr battery life, i think you have not enabled the power saving options on the supplied batterymizer utility

How much did you pay for your C1 though?

Hi guys! For turning the screen automatically, you can enable the auto rotation in the "LG On Screen Display" application. It's on your LG Software program group. After loading, a little "Fn" icon should be on your lower right task bar area, right click it then you will see all the options. Hope it helps :)

In terms of battery life, yes, I can get about 2 hours too by using tablet mode.Check your BatteryMiser options. ;)

In Canada, they included the extended battery too in the purchase so I have 2 batteries altogether giving me a little more than 5 hours work time and it only takes about an hour to recharge the tiny one.

Overall, I love my C1 more than any available tablet out there. If they make some "perfect fit" "pretty" bags for it would be even better for a girl like me. :p

    Not a C1 owner....but a P100 owner. :)

I've been trying to get the auto rotate to work but can't seem to do it. I used the fn thngy and ticked next to enable auto rotate but it doesn't do it when I swicth to tablet mode??

i own the c1 for about half a year now. the cdrom drive was broken right out of the box. got it replaced. yesterday night i heard a click sound. today i pulled the power cord and the laptop just shut down on me. turns out my battery just broke too.
im connecting my headphones to the microphone jack, because the headphone jack does not work either anymore. the realtek driver lets me use the mic input as headphone out. apart from that the sound volume is really low. i cant hear hardly anything on my headphones and ive tested several - its the laptop.

i spent 2000€ on this piece of and im getting seriously pissed. thats the only reason i registered in this forum in the first place.

    stay away from that thing.

i forgot to mention: getting the cdrom drive replaced took forever. im speaking about some 5-6 months. it came in just a few weeks ago.
the battery warranty is only for 6 months i probably wont even get it replaced. now why do they have an extra - shorter - warranty for the battery? - lg is an insult.

CodeRed444 I am sorry to hear your bad experience with the C1. I own it for two years now and its the best money I ever spent on a laptop/tablet pc. I use it for at least four hours a day and I just ordered new 3cell and 6cell batteries.I have upgraded the ram to 2GB and the wifi module with an intel 4965agn (draft-n) adding a 3rd antenna too. I am considering upgrading the HD with a Runcore SSD this year since the HD is the only thing that's mediocre speed wise. And of course try windows 7. :)
