    Hi,

I'm looking for a new laptop, and actually this question can be targeted at any user of a 2.8kg laptop, but i thought i'd try asking S1 users since I'm really interested in one.

Do you think an LG S1 would suit my needs, or is it too heavy and large for day to day travel with a slingbag?

    Thanks

Personally I use backpacks more than slingbags, and I find that the weight is fine. I do switch to a slingbag now and then and it starts off ok, but if I have to walk far, I do start to feel the weight. If you want to have a general idea of how much 2.8 will feel on your shoulder, you could always try filling up a few bottles of water to 2.8 litres and putting that in a bag.. Sounds silly I know, but I tried it once!

Don't forget that while the laptop weighs 2.8, you'll probably be carrying your powerpack and all that other stuff too.

i agree with kensuke, if you are going to use a slingbag all day you will start to feel it after 10mins of walking. i would suggest a good backpack with good support. i have the T1 and with a 1L water bottle and a binder and a text book with my microsoft mouse and power adapter it does start to add up.

    Hello there,
I am an extremly happy owner of the S1 :) I don't find the weight to be a problem at all...I use mostly slingbags as well. I'm a skinny woman and find it hard to understand how a 3 kg computer bag can pose a problem to you guys ;) even if you carry it with you for few hours a day. Personally I think you will be just find with it. Good luck.

IT sure is :) It took me a few months of looking around and asking for advice, just as I thought I had found a perfect lappy a new one would pop out of nowhere... ;) I guess there is always something new, better looking, more powerfull or practical that is waiting around a corner. The more you analyze the more difficult it gets. My advice is, if you like it , buy it! Maybe I'm old fashioned, but the best way to buy a laptop is at a regular store, where you can actually touch it, feel it, compare it to others. Anyhow, hope you'll be a happy owner of a new machine soon :)
