Where was the 'old' P310 available? I read that a crippled version was available in Canada whereas the fully specced one was available in the UK. How did people in North America import one from the UK, Korea, or elsewhere?

Where is the P430 available currently?

I'm trying to get an idea of how difficult it would be to get my hands on a P330 if it is not available in North America and also of how much it would cost on top of the laptop to import it.

    Thanks!

There is a lot of talk in the old P310 thread that you can probably dig up. My recollection is that very few actually were able to import P310's here. Those that did, were able to get them from Germany. All you had to do was swap the KB for an english version, which the retailers would sell with the computer. It was from reading those threads that I got the idea to import my 3820TG from Germany. However, only a few of use were able to get them throught customs before Canadian customs sent a few models back to Computeruniverse in Germany due to the ban on LiPolimer batteries as cargo on passenger flights. Because of that, Computeruniverse stopped shipping to the US.

If Taiwan gets the LG330, you might also be able to ship one from PCHome. After they shut of the EU as a source of the 3820TG, buyers were able to import from PCHome (who proved to be very reputable). A big plus was the fact that keyboard had US and Chineese characters on the keyboard so it was familiar. No swapping needed. All you had to do was install an English version of W7.

Finally, if Japan gets it, you can use a grey market retailer like Conics. You pay a premium, but this new LG might be worth it. I have my eye on it too.
