Since Smart On is a Splashtop that should be capable of running on non-LG hardware it wouldn't surprise me if they intentionally avoided uploading it. If I've understood the situation correctly it came on a seperate partition that you deleted when you installed Windows 7 Ultimate. If your laptop came bundled with a recovery disc you could use that to get it back before reinstalling Windows, this time making sure not to format the Splashtop partition.

I wasn't able to find it as a separate download for the x120, x130 nor the x140. Someone had uploaded the version found on the x120 but the link appears to be dead.

Contacting LG is always a good idea, but I'm not so sure they'll end up sending you the file. I take it that you don't have a recovery disc for your laptop then?

Please note that I'm not talking about the HDD, but rather a recovery DVD. From what I can gather those don't exist for the x130, so you're probably out of luck there. As you stated your best bet seems to be to get in touch with a fellow x130 owner that could make an image of the recovery or Splashtop partition and send it to you. I reckon that trying to use an image from the x120 or, more preferably, the x140 would be worth a shot as well if someone could make one for you.

Other than that, exactly what went wrong with your previous HDD? Are you completely sure you won't be able to salvage anything from it?
