Recently (well a few months ago) there was an update about new upgrade to graphics cards in lw60 series.....so like if you had a 64mb ram graphics card it would be doubled....how does this work? how do u work it

    here is the update details:
    Name:ATi Display Driver
    Version:6.14.10.6543
Content:Graphic driver is now being updated as the latest version.
    (1) The size of the video memory will be increased to 128MB or 256MB depending on the local graphics memory and installed system memory.@@@ (2) The video memory type will be changed from “DDR SGRAM/SDRAM” to “HyperMemory”@@@ (3) Above two changes will be available with system BIOS HUNTSF0A revision or later.@@@ @@@ The HyperMemory™ had been running on your system, the only difference from the past driver is whether the graphics driver displays the HyperMemory™ size or not.@@@ @@@ The HyperMemory™ is ATI’s technology for utilizing and managing system memory as an extension to the local video memory to enhance system performance during the processing and creation of 3D and other images.@@@ @@@ For your reference,@@@ @@@ * The amount of HyperMemory™ is calculated as the cumulative total of local and system memory used by the Visual Processing Unit(VPU).@@@ * The amount of HyperMemory™ available is determined by the amount of local graphics memory

    hi 2 all ;)

I have a LM70 EXPRESS (1GB DDRII RAM, ATiX600 128MB) , I noticed this update too but it is very funny that after recognizing this new driver by LG Intelligent autoUpdate at the first time I tried to download it (~28MB) via dial-up modem and unfortunately a disconnection happened & only 20 MB was downloaded C:\Program Files\lg_swupdate\update\050817202205_D_VIDEO and the zip file was not OK (htATI_614106543e.exe) , so I tried to download it again but LOL LG Intelligent Update could not recognize this new driver even in On-line update process!!! **** it! what's wrong with it? LOL Intelligent
Anyway I downloaded this driver [Video/2000/XP] ATI Driver Ver 6.14.10.6543 (LM60/LM70) via http://www.lge.com/support/software_gcsc.jsp

I have installed this driver but nothing happened! still showing 128mb instead of 256mb in ATiX600 properties!(my bios is up2date) .... any one knows why?
even it's not hyper still DDR!!

Finally as I play NFS MOST WANTED  , I tried EA Easy Info & there I have noticed that my video card memory is 256MB  YES !!! But I am confused how on the earth it can not be shown in Ati properties/adapter ??? any one knows?

what is the differences between downloading drivers updates via lge.com/support and the stupid annoying
LG Intelligent Update software ??? any differences but losing some extra valuable HDD space for this dumb software?( u know guys even it keeps the updates.zip & deleting the zip files makes it unable to recognize your installed & updated drivers or applications) LOL

Any INFORMATION can improve our knowledge about this rare subject :centrino:
