C'mon LG! give us the bios rom instead of that sloppy .exe file, so we can configure and change the settings on our expensive laptops as we like!

Or release a new bios that does NOT lock the gpu from overclocking, it ticks me off that I cant control my own equipment! why?!?!??

the only driver working fully (still wonder why they do) is 169.04, and they run like charm... for older applications! but they are deadly outdated and newer drivers are needed for newer thing... and when that change happens, the very very slow little 8600gs performance very poorly compared to when overclocked.

If i got the chance i would hardware OC any day, but cant since the bios reading of the gpu is blocked and I cant download the systembios and draw out the vga bios to change it all myself, since they wont provide a .rom file.

    It's so silly...

Yes, they should give you the option, but I thought the P300 ran hot while gaming and you want to OC it?

It does not get hot at all.. ofcause it does get "hot", but not compared to other brands and far from what is dangerous or way too hot. it performs VERY well under full load and overclocked.. been running games OC'ed for a while now.. but im stuck with 169.04 which is sad.

Hmm, let us know if you ever find a solution to this problem :)

What are the strongest drawbacks of the 169.04?

May i ask how you are overclocking and at what speeds you set your card at?

Just got an E500, and ive been having the same performance gripe with the 8600M...
