I have the Lg S1 and I was wondering how might one go about controlling the speed of the fan? I realize that function + f11 toggles specific settings however when I am playing games or just plugged in, I would like the option of keeping the fan on max all the time rather than have it speed up and slow down when it thinks it should. Sometimes, when I leave the fan setting on 'cool' the laptop seems to get pretty hot and the moment I toggle settings to 'normal' or 'silent', the fan starts revving up again.

Bottom line, if I know I'm going to be doing something taxing on the system, how can I keep the fan running at max rpms?

I don’t think you can control the fan speed itself.
Do what I do when playing; just put the setting on the cool mod…

Did you try programs such as NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) or RMClock? I think those programs might be able to control fan speeds too. =)

Yeah I do set it on 'cool mode' but the fan will go through times where it slows down and speeds up regardless whereas I just want to keep it sped up.

I tried NHC but it won't let me set the fan speeds...dunno about RMClock though...

one thing you might want to try is look in the bios. i was looking through mine today for security settings, and in the advanced tab, i believe is an option to set what speed the fan runs in depending on if the computer is running on AC or DC power. i'm not sure your unit's bios has the option, but it's something to check. good luck!
