Occasionally, when I've been away from my LG 17 and the external monitor has gone blank, the monitor fails to light up after I've typed a key or moved the mouse. The monitor's menu buttons will flicker until I unplug the HDMI cable from the notebook and plug it back in. Once done, the monitor lights up and all is well. I haven't test it precisely, but it's possible I'm away long enough for the system to suspend. Either way, it happens sometimes, not most of the time.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, any recommendations? Thanks.
