    Very nice! :)

Can you say anything about the chipset drivers yet? I'm interested on getting the E300 when it's released in Europe, but I'm planning to switching back to XP pro. I just don't know if the ATI Catalyst drivers work as chipset drivers.

BTW, how's the display on E200 in your opinion?

its an older chipset thats included, so i'm pretty sure that its compatible for windows xp
but im not sure if they are gonna use the same one for the e300 b/c they are pushing the e200 as a low end 12.1 solution versus the r200 sideshow :p
the screen is alright for a 12.1 inch, the e500 has a much better screen but I wasnt expecting much for a 12 inch
theres the regular bleeding on the bottom and top corners
gonna post some pictures in my review of it

I'm deciding to get either the E200 or the R405 from NCIX.com

The R405 is $100 cheaper with the discount selling at 899.99

I'm leaning towards the E200 because I like smaller and easy to carry gadgets.

I almost bought an HP today but I didn't like the way it felt. I wanted something that feels more solid. I have no clue where i can test any of these LG notebooks so that is why i'm holding back right now.

The big decision is 12.1 vs 14.1 screen size.

This will be my first notebook that will allow me to enjoy some movies and music while being able to take notes and do home work at school.

The fact that the E200 just came out, i'm sort of leaning to get it.

For $1000, its pretty good I guess except that I'll probably have to buy 1 more gig of ram for it.

the notebook does make it easier to upgrade to 2 gigs as although there is built in ram hidden behind the keyboard, there is a easy to access free slot on the bottom

Hold out for the R200 if you can stretch to the additional cost. Once you see it you're going to hate not having gotten it. Or maybe that's just me.... I'm a huge sucker for eye candy and that is one of the few notebooks I've seen ever that I thought was freakin HOT looking. (Or maybe I just need to spend more time looking at women...)

Good to see other ppl checking this model out.
Don't forget the HDMI! It's a big selling point for me.

I thought Pentium Dual Core was phased out a while ago..?
Or is this a Core2duo or a Core duo or what? A lot of retailers, such as NCIX, are listing it as a Core2Duo. I'm confused.

Can you say anything about the battery life?

Also, shops are listing the graphics card has GMA3100, not the ATI. Can you go into your bio to check?

No replies from the OP yet? ;(

I was also wondering about this: What colour is the keyboard? It seems that Canadian LG outlets have the Black keyboard, but everywhere else has the cool White keyboard

And to answer your question Claymaster, the laptop is as follows:

1.98Kg(1.78Kg with weight saver) <--With standard 6Cell battery

the pentium dual-core processors used are just dumbed down core 2 duos with half the cache if my source is correct
It is Pentium Dual-core for sure

the battery life is about 2 hours under high usage and about 2:45 for power saving

I'll come out with my review on it tonight

I personally decided to get the R405 instead of the E200, because it's cheaper and has a larger screen(I decided that I didn't really care about the battery life or weight that much)

    Guys

I've just bought LG E200- however I want to install WinXP- I checked the official pages of LG but could not find wireless LAN drivers. Can anyone help me to find (if they exist) wireless LAN drivers for WinXP ?

I've had LG E200 laptop for about two months now. I fought long with the functionality between Vista Premium and E200 until I had to give up. I had BIG problems with the updates and the wlan.

There were always one update that didn't install and because of that almost every boot took about 30-40 minutes. When you turn on your laptop the Windows always checked and specified updates just because that one update couldn't be installed. I never found a solution for it and there was no setting to make a difference. Second problem was wlan. Everything worked just fine for 2-3 weeks until one day the wlan didn't work anymore. I know that many people have same kind of problems with Vista and Atheros wlan and there seems not to be any solution for it.

So finally I changed to Windows XP and now the laptop works much better and faster. Only two minor things occured. I only could get wlan wpa to work with just 50 letters long phrase but I think it's still pretty secure. Second problem is SD card reader. When I unplug SD card from the reader I have to boot the laptop before I can plug the card back and make Windows to understand that there's a card plugged. If someone has a driver for this I'd be happy to get the link. :D

And oh, the wlan driver can be downloaded from here: http://www.atheros.cz/download.php?atheros=AR5006EG&system=1

Be careful before you plunge into installing XP on your E200. There are 2 main issues. First is whether you will find all the drivers you need for XP. WLAN may not be the only driver you'll need. LG's website is most unhelpful. I cannot understand how a laptop manufacturer would not provide some guidance on drivers on its website.

The second problem you may encounter is that I understand Microsoft does not allow activation of Windows XP on any computer that was pre-loaded and activated with Vista Home (Basic or Premium). The implication is that even if you find all the drivers you need for XP with E200, you may not be able to activate the XP!
