It seems very difficult to find any notebook manufacturer with a real docking station and not just a port replicator. I really like the look and large screen resolution of the LG T1 Express Dual...but are there any docking stations available for it?

I don't know the LG line inside and out, but I don't think so. That's more typical for business machines.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but you'll probably need to try to find a "universal" docking station, because I don't think LG is a popular enough brand of notebooks yet for there to be dedicated docking stations. I searched eBay and found these two, maybe one of 'em will do what you want?

Note that I'm not entirely sure what the diff is between a "docking station" and "port replicator" ... both of these are described as "docking stations", so ... *shrugs*

Well, I think in the industry the term has been somewhat bastardized, but in my mind, a port replicator doesn't do anything except replicate the ports on the laptop itself or add a couple more. This lets you hook up one cable instead of many.

A docking station should add not just ports, but additional expansion slots via PCI, ExpressCard or PC Card, and a drive bay.

I'm not sure why manufacturers don't offer these anymore. They used to be pretty standard but now everything seems to be skewed towards port replicator only functionality. Dell is the ONLY manufacturer I can find that offers a PCI slotted docking station for an ultraportable. I prefer the LG look and screen resolution, but the ability to put a multimonitor card in that extra PCI slot unfortunately will take precedence.
