I !!DO NOT!! recommend purchasing any LG brand laptop from Future Shop or anywhere else for that matter. In August 2008 I purchased an LG R405 Model A.CP06A9 I had a lot of problems with in most notably operating system crashes (Blue Screen). I took the computer back to future shop and they sent it back to LG for service. About a month later I got it back, with a new motherboard but guess what... still crashes. Finally figured out what the problem was on my own no thanks to Future Shop or LG. The integrated camera driver was causing the crashes so I disabled the camera, didn't use it anyway. A friend of mine purchased an LG E300 which was essentially the same computer in a smaller case, all the hardware was identical, and he had exactly the same problems I had. Okay so no camera big deal. There were more problems. Most irritating of all is the fact that the battery will not even last 2 hours no matter what I'm using the laptop for. But my biggest complaint with the laptop is that LG does not really support the product. The first thing I tried to do is install windows Vista 64-Bit. However, after much searching I could not find drivers for any 64-Bit OS. I contacted LG and after about 10 emails back and forth what I was told in so many words was that LG was not going to offer any 64-Bit drivers and had no plans to do so ever. This was simply stupid as my laptop has 4GB of RAM but a 32-Bit OS can only see 3GB of RAM. Also after six months LG has not even released a camera driver that works. After doing a little more research I found the problem. Unlike Dell, HP, Compaq, any major laptop manufacturer, LG does not sell their laptops everywhere. In fact the particular laptop I purchased was available ONLY at Future Shop having been build soley for them. As such LG had no desire to waste time and money releasing updates for their products since the customer base is so small they have nothing to gain by supporting their products. Well there you have it. There will be no support or driver updates what so ever for any LG laptop as far as I can tell they do not even market them in the US so with so few models being sold I'm on my own and that is why it is impossible to find any reviews on LG laptops because so few are actually sold. I wish I had bought myself an HP, there are 64-Bit drivers available as well as frequent updates to their drivers and extended life batteries available which, as of yet, I have been unable to find for my laptop.

Good for your outgoing opinion which may be a bit harsh but quit posting this in other threads as it is against forum rules.

Hey I love LG too. No problem at all since my 3 years of use. Battery still working with full capacities (3hours). It is how you use laptop... I have 3 OS vista sp1, win xp sp3 and windos 7 beta. There is absolutely no problems encountered at all. I am only using 32bits because there is really no need to use a 64bit as there are so many programs that dont use 64bit at all. Only part of the 4 GB you have is not used in 32 bit, there is not much difference for a ram size that is so big, if you see all the benchmarks on the webs.

From what I have seen only lg has the full keyboard that include the numpad which I always use.

You may be wrong about drivers update. For my P1 dual express, The ati video drivers had just been updated last month.

The number of customers cannot be small if lg continues to make new laptop models. No manufacturers will continue if they are not making money. Like samsung which had made laptops for 2 years and decided to stop making laptops.

This is my expereince of LG in Singapore. They are competant in every way with other brands so do not based on your own experience and tell everyone not to buy LG.

    i know i like LG.

Whenever i walk inside of a store and look at an LG notebook and pretty much everything else i always come out with the impression like Darn this thing is well built!

Thats the same thing with the P300 every time i see it and compare it to other 13" notebooks well there really isnt much of a comparison. It feels well constructed/Tight both the lid and the interior pieces and LG's screens are EXCELLENT some of the best made displays in notebooks now are made by LG i know i might not buy an LG soon but ill always be considering it :D

for the price an LG P300 or 310 is an EXCELLENT machine, in experience much more pleasing to use than a Sony Z or any other portable in it's class ...

(I bought our P300 at Future Shop)

Sorry for your bad experience.... even though my GPU might be a problem, I don't think it's LG's fault.

so far LG has offered the best experience, best price and best hardware you can get. I'm not sure about customer service or anything else but from my experience so far it's not so bad

I'm really impressed with the bloatware... there is practically none when you purchase a notebook

Could very well be....i've seen this a couple of times and always the same thing. Someone joining, bashing, never even reply and they're gone. Pointless and nobody should take these things serious IMO
