No details on when manufacturers are going to release Core 2 Duo notebooks. Asus has been the only one who has formally done it, and Sony and Dell have informally done it (through pre-orders and 'false' teases on their sites).

I think Core 2 Duo will not appear in notebooks until after Labor Day, when companies can have a big sale and get rid of older stock

True. So far LG havent announced one yet. So I guess I will keep looking for the T1. Notebook Outlet in Pacific Mall is selling them for $1799 + tax before $100 rebate...I am looking for arounfd $1600... :(

I heard that sept there will be duo core 2's in a bunch of the LG's, and was pretty i remember being told they would appear in the T1...

but we'll see! wait till the announcements in sept before buying an LG, for sure though. They will be putting the DC2's in existing models.

well, i've heard that a retailer (3 days ago) has already heard that they were to be introducing core2duo laptops so it shouldn't be that far off i hope.

who cares about a core 2 duo in a T1..LG needs to do something about the horrendously slow 1.8" hard drive first. Any application or task i try to do on my T1 is bottlenecked by the poor disk IO performance. For example, my outlook.ost file is only about 600mb and outlook takes atleast 1-2 minutes to load and become usable (the hard drive activity LED is lit the whole time). I'm sorry if I seem like I am ranting. I hate my T1 and can not wait until Hard Drive manufacturers come out with some faster 1.8" drives.

I'm not sure about the T1, but LG is supposed to release a new R1 series (14.1" screen) by late September.
