    Hi all,
It one month time I will be buying a laptop and it's a fair possibility that the laptop would be an LG S1.
Can anyone tell me how much i the flex both in the bodywork and the keyboard?
Since I am using this to do a lot of programming how does the keyboard feel ? Are the keys flat styled or they are desktop style ? How much is the heat ? Can you put it on your lap all the time ? What is the Screen Res. and Quality (I have heared that LG laptop's have very good screens) ? What are the main issues ? How much it is linux compatible ? Does the magnet closing the lid wear off?
Sorry if I ask too much but I am a little touchy on the subject of choosing laptops ?

I do program a lot since I'm studying Computer engineer. I basically use Visual C++, Java, etc... and I love the resolution, 1680X1050 is perfect because you don't have to scroll that much when programming, and there's a lot of space for debug/watch/trace sections.
The keyboard is flat styled but very comfortable, no flex, only in the lid if you push it hard.
Heat is not a problem at all, it can only get hot if you are gaming.
And for the screen, some people say that it is a little dark, but I think it is perfect.

Basically what Calzon said....the screen may be dark for some...i find it perfect...same with the resolution...writing code is not difficult and it helps to see more of the window you're working in. As for flex, no flexing under normal use. If you twist the screen, then there is a bit of discoloration on the sides, and a little flex if u push really hard on the screen or keyboard. The screen i have is 1600x1080 and has no noticable light leakage or anything of the sort. As for linux, ive heard that nvidia cards are more linux friendly, havent tried my own install yet since im waiting for a new hard drive. No heating up under normal use and the magnet on the lid hasnt shown much deterioration...although ive only had my S1 for 2 months now...someone who has had it for longer would be able to answer that better :)
