I bought a LG lp60 laptop here in dubai around 6 months ago. 2 months ago the laptop turned off for no apparent reason. At first I thought that this might have been a power feature that I might have not known about. I turned on the laptop and everything was fine. The next day the samething happened. The laptop would be on for about an hour and then it would turn off. That very day as i put the laptop on my lap it heated up ( a lot i might say) and it turned off. It was really awkward...um .. for the other lg laptop guys out there.....there is a pad under your laptop saying mobile intelligence or something. Well my laptop heated in that area and then it shut down. I took it to the service center and they returned it saying that nothing was wrong with it. The same thing happened a week later and i went to the service center again..same thing. I have since called the service hotline and explained my problem. I have gone back to the service center twice and the same thing again and again.
At first they said they ran diagnostics on the laptop and nothing was wrong. they dont want to acknowledge the fact that something is wrong with my laptop.

Well I dont know what to do.. please advise.

Wow, it really sounds like your system is overheating! Do you hear the fan coming on? What program(s) are you running if and when this happens?
I have read that some of the LM/LW series have a hard time keeping cool when running really intensive game play or graphics programs with high demand IO. I would ask the repair people to let you hang out with them and do a real time check with you there and see if it does it again.
(And I know this may sound real dumb but your system is not going into hybernation or system stand by is it?) What are your power settings and profiles set for?

Yes I can, i pay almost $5000AUD for my notebook, and the only reason why they took so long was because they lost it when they recieved it from AP. Yes they lost my NB!On the other hand, i have too say dell isn't so big here in aus, dell tend's to use cheap parts and the return rate for them are pretty high.

I have the LW60-DBJA, and have had nothing but inverter/backlight problems since I have had it. I bought it in March, sent it away within a month due the backlight failing. It was send back to me saying they couldn't find a problem, a month later it did it again, was sent back to the repairer(Highpoint Australia) and this time they replaced the LCD component and the inverter. Lo and behold, a month later it does it again, and on Monday I am delivering it to Highpoint again, as last time they attempted to organise a courier it took over a week to be picked up. As to the 72 hour turn around....ha! Each time I have sent it away it's taken 3 weeks minimum.
