    Hi,

I have LG M002A9 Express Pro Dual computer, which has 2x1 gb ram and 2.16ghz T7400 cpu.

Now my question is, I just bought 2x2 gb ram and I installed them on my computer. I had 32 bit Windows 2008, after i installed the rams, the computer comes on (the bios and the loading screen of windows) but after that the screen goes off. I cannot see anything on windows. When I checked the bios it seems I have 3 gb ram on the system. I tried 2 different ram sets (Kingston and Corsair)
I thought it might be because of windows and I tried to install a 64bit Windows 2008 server, but it gave an error and not successfully completed.

What can I do? Is my system 64 bit? Why can't I install neither 4 gb ram nor a 64bit operating system? Help me please :.(

You need a 64-bit operating system in order to address more than ~3.5GB of RAM. If you could tell us the error you got when you tried to install x64 Vista, we can find the problem.

The chipset that the T7400 has is not capable of addressing 4GB of RAM...even with a 64bit OS.

I think the chipset is capable of addressing 4Gb Ram, whether it be in 64bit or 32bit SP1.

Could this be a Matrix HD Control problem? AHCI?

    EDIT: Yup...945pm chipset listed here:

    http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/945pm/index.htm

EDIT AGAIN: Greg, I already know your response and will just attribute the but of misinterpretaion to incorrect wording. To the author, the following is probably the best explanation of how the 945 chipset uses memory:

The MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo presumably uses Intel's 945PM chipset, which can physically handle 4 GB of DDR2 RAM. However, a number of items that must be stored in physical RAM space, and when RAM reaches 4 GB, there is some overlap. In other words, in a 3 GB RAM configuration, there is no overlap with the memory ranges required for certain system functions. Between 3 GB and 4 GB, however, system memory attempts to occupy space that is already assigned to these functions. For instance, the PCI Express RAM allocation occurs at somewhere around 3.5 GB of RAM and requires 256 MB of RAM. Thus, the virtual space between 3.5 GB of RAM and 3.75 GB of RAM is occupied by PCI Express data. So in a system with 3 GB of RAM, nothing is being wasted because the memory space required by PCI Express is still between 3.5 and 3.75 GB, and the installed system RAM does not violate this space.
The net result is that at least 3 GB of RAM should be fully accessible, while when 4 GB of RAM installed, ~700 MB of of the RAM is overlapping critical system functions, making it non-addressable by the system.

    Thank you guys;

So as far as I understand, there is no way I can use 4gb ram with my computer. Is that right?

Why is the manufacturer (LG) says up to 4 gb ram?

When I try to install Windows Server 2008 64 bit edition, it gives this error:
windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. make sure all files required for installation are available, restart the installation. error code: 0x80070017

I searched on the internet, it says mostly it might be dvd problem. I burned the dvd with the most slow speed (pain in the btt) and tried to install it again but it wasnt very helpful.

    Any help about this?

You mean you cloned a original Microsoft DVD right? Does it tell what file is the problem? Perhaps the original DVD is defected somehow. Cloning with another drive might help. You could also try to wash the DVD with water and some mild dishwasher detergent from all finger prints and such. I use that when some movie DVD:s don't play fine on my DVD player and sometimes that helps. Just try not to rub the disc with anything other than perhaps your fingers while washing to prevent scratching.

On the other hand, if it was some kind download then I have no idea. Depending on what file and where it resides, it might be possible to test if it is okay in theory. Extracting from archive (if it is inside one) would probably tell if there is a CRC problem with the archive. Or in case EXE or something it might be possible to try and run that. Even Google could tell something interesting about the file.
