I can't find any X-series notebooks, not even the upcoming X220, that have 1440x900 or higher resolution.
Was the X200 and x200s the last chance to have that high resolution?

The Sony Viao P has a 1600x768 screen. Will that do?
Sony VAIO P Series review -- Engadget
(Really it seems like a cool idea that isn't really practical) -
Max resolutions:
X220 - 12.5" @ 1366x768 = ~122 PPI
X201 - 12.1" @ 1280x800 = ~124 PPI
X120e - 11.6" @ 1366x768 = ~131 PPI
X200/s - 12.1" @ 1440x900 = ~140 PPI
X300/1 - 13.3" @ 1440x900 = ~127 PPI -

The pending X220s is said to have a 1600x900 12.5" option. I'd wait and see if that's usable, and for an Amex 1-day sale.
And I agree, the Sony won't do. I'd take a chance on their eh, quality, if they made a decent keyboard, trackpoint, and removed the touch-pad, but they seem to be more concerned with "style". -
Is there even a pending X220s?

The new 12.5in x220s is supposed to have a 1600x900 screen option apparently. So its slightly bigger but offers a bit more horizontal resolution.
edit: Currently youre stuck with the horrible 1366x768 for this segment. You could get a sony z with a 1080p screen in a 13in, but that will set you back $2k+ -
there were some speculation (seemingly founded on largely dubious and circumstantial pieces of information) that there was a 1600x display panel that Lenovo might have been 'thinking about' and that is the extent of it.
be careful of what you mean you mean 'said'. lenovo has not said anything about such an option. -

I guess I should have read the thread about it. Shame they killed the higher res ultraportable segment as it is pretty much perfect for on the go. Makes me that much happier about my x200s.

When it is time for you to upgrade, the industry will get it's sense back and offer a higher resolution. Hopefully that is not too far away, since I am getting fond of the high density screen on my x120e.
Is the X200(s) the last 1440x900 ultraportable thinkpad?
