I heard that the 1600*900 410p isnt actually anti-glare even though it says so on the lenovo website. so i am having doubts whether the same problem is there in the 510p that isnt FHD.
the price gap is huge between the 1080p 510p and the 768 res one. so i cant afford that.

any other suggestion for gaming laptops within 850$ is welcome. :)

Never go with 1366 x 768 on 15 inch. You will regret it.

I repeat, NEVER NEVER x 12 go with 1366 x 768 screen on 15 inch. If you can't afford FHD, then save up more.

The HD+ 1600x900 screens on ThinkPad T510/520/530 are matte.

Everything is relative: if your budget is $850 then a $200 screen upgrade is totally senseless. I understand.

I can't help you specifically here, but just want to remind you that ThinkPads are not gaming laptops.

The HD 1366x768 screens on T510/520/530 are of low quality while providing less workable space (although most of my gaming friends tend to prefer 1366x768, perhaps because of the games they play). The HD+ 1600x900 is of average quality. The FHD 1900x1080 (AU Optronics B156HW01 V.4) screen is awesome in terms of quality and 96% color gamut.

I refrain from making general claims that 15.6" 1366x768 screens are "absolute crap" and you must totally stay away from them.

I recommend the AUO B156HW01 V.4 (FHD 1900x1080) screen because of its high quality.

@Kaso: I think the OP is talking about Ideapad Y410p and Y510p.

Somehow I think the OP has common sense to post at here (the name of subforum is Lenovo, right? and Ideadpad is from Lenovo).

I see that the Lenovo subforum schema is like this:

    * Lenovo
    -ThinkPad Edge, X1, X100e/X120e, & SL/L
    -IdeaPad & Essential

Currently, Lenovo subforum is the home of Thinkpad non-Edge threads, however it seems some people doesn't know if their lenovo machine is belong to Ideapad or not, so they just posted in the Lenovo subforum.

I have a suggestion to the forum admin to make a subforum for Thinkpad Non-Edge or better just make two thinkpad subforum like this:
-Non Classic Thinkpad (new thinkpad from lenovo. Edge will put in here too - no need of discrimination anymore :p)
-Classic Thinkpad (old IBM thinkpad here)

So there would be three subforums in Lenovo but the Lenovo subforum itself doesn't contain any threads. I think this would make the life of moderator a bit easier.
