I noticed that there was a promotion on lenovo.com untill Dec 10th, and I planed to get one in Dec. Is this the right time to buy it? Will there be a big sale during Christmas? Thanks!

there will always be better sales
buy the laptop when you need to
    waiting takes forever

plus, when xmas comes around, shipping may take forever if demand is high.
    just my $0.02

buy now...prices are fairly good. also we know from past experience that lenovo hasn't held up it's manufacturing line to well when there has been a high demand so hopefully if you order now you'll avoid some of the Christmas rush.

Early 08 but last I checked penryn is not going to be a major step in performance, more like a babystep with a few slight improvements.
