Is my laptop a T61 or is it a T61p?

I placed an order for what I was listed as a configure to order T61, and every since when I tell anyone here about it they say that it is a T61p. Is it so unbelievable that Lenovo would allow the configuration I have on a T61? The screen/video card combo makes everyone doubt that my unit is a T61(no "p"), but Lenovo makes it clear every step of the way that it is a T61. All of the correspondence received to this point refers to it as a T61. How can I tell for sure? Just curious?

The difference between T61 and T61p is essentially the GPU. Hence, yes, your T61 is a T61p because of the NVIDIA Quatro FX 570M GPU.

 

At that price it BETTER be a T61p. But really it does seem like you got yourself a sweet T61p, unless Lenovo has screwed up again!

 

I thought the 14" was the T61p? His is a 15.4" screen.

 

Both T61 and T61p come in 2 sizes: 14.1" and 15.4"

 

Well this really makes me wonder why they did not list the model as T61p. Now I wonder if it will be badged as T61p. Has anyone else configured a device like this and received a T61 badged unit?

 

the order and parts list will say T61 even though it is a T61p. quit worrying.

 

I'm in the same boat as you. But worry not. The non-p T-61's ship on time. In fact, UPS says mine will arrive a week before Lenovo said it would. So buck up, chin high. All is well and better than well!

 

I was really curious about whether my situation was as rare a it appeared. BTW Mine will arrive 19 days before Lenovo said it would.

Your laptop will probably have a T61 clearplate but with the Quadro 570M.
