When i do Access IBM BIOS---> "recover factory XP install"...in the BIOS, i halted at the following DOS window:

FWMount Version 1.0 Copyright (c) 2002 Phoenix Tech.

Mounting BIOS drive 80h (ATA drive 0)
    PSA Index#........................7
    PSA ID#.............................888h
    Starting Sector....................3286891
    Sector Count.......................5941248
    Drive Letter......................... D

It didn't get into that GUI part wherein you are ask if you are to re-cover and you type "Y" confirmations before proceeding. It just halted in the above msg.

If somebody out there experiences similar, pls share your ideas. Thanks.

You should give IBM customer service a call, it sounds like maybe the hard drive may be failing or in the least has lost some clusters.
