It costs about $50. The CPU speed won't change much, but the L2 cache double from 2MB to 4MB. Is this worth update?
Thanks!

Yes, definitely worth the upgrade for double the cache for very little extra cash. After that (T7300 to T7500 to T7700) it becomes less of a $ to performance ratio. Personally I went with the T7500. I think the increase in price between T7500 and T7700 is unjustifiable. Simple answer to your question... Yes for 50 bucks, do it.
This was discussed quite a bit here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=137660 -
I agree with that handsome devil above. Definitely worth it for such a small amount of money. T7300 is the best price to performance processor in Santa Rosa's arsenal.
Stallen... AWESOME display pic. -
I would also do it however you will only *need* a t7300 if you're planning on video/music editing and such. If you're only doing office stuff, gaming and basically anything else, the t7100 will be more than powerful enough.

Yeah, the 5 series is good enough, but I went with the 7300 because for 50 bucks, the L2 cache probably would help extend the life of my CPU another year.. This machine should be all I need for quite some time (I don't game).

Definitely get the T7300. I have the T7100 and I've realized I should have gotten the better processor because ripping DVD's takes a lot longer with a 7100. It's good enough for the basic stuff but for CPU intensive tasks, it's worth $50.

Lookin' pretty good yourself -
Well thank you good sir. You stay classy Stallen.

I toss my vote in too. You should certainly upgrade to the T7300. The added L2 cache will make a big difference. So unless you are increadibly strapped for cash (eating nothing but ramen noodles for the past 1.5 years) go for the upgrade.
Is it worth to upgrade from T7100 1.8G to T7300 2.0G?
