I am just curious if I am able to change it or not. It is because I would like to give my lappy a new fresh look since I am going to stick with it for a long time :)

Yes, it is possible. But the parts will be hard to buy / find on the aftermarket. They will likely be expensive. The process will be time-intensive. There's a decent chance of you breaking something else while you're doing the work (e.g. plastic clips, or delicate cables). And there's a decent chance that not everything will fit together again properly, especially if some of the parts rely on plastic clips or adhesive.

Are you just trying to change the appearance? If yes, you're better off buying stickers that are custom-cut to fit the Lenovo Ideapad Y500 chassis. They cost $20 - $50; can easily be purchased on Amazon; and have zero risk of damaging your hardware by using it.
