I have recently purchased a w510 and opted out of the pantone colorimeter built in. I also got the gamut screen which I have subsequently been reading about color changing with time. I am not a photo heavy user and did not think I would need it but now am having second thoughts. Is it possible to purchase this hardware and install it? I am fairly tech savvy and do not think it would be terribly difficult. The bezel also has a knockout where the colorimeter belongs.

It's built into the body though. You might want to get a repair manual and see how the colorimeter connects to the system. Personally I think you would have an easier time using a USB colorimeter.

I'm pretty sure they don't sell the parts you want separately. According to the hardware maintenance manual, you would need to order the Keyboard bezel assembly.

My W510 has the fingerprint reader but no CS. If I want both I would order the 60Y5505 keyboard bezel. Looks like the going rate for that part new is $230.

Might be able to find it on eBay.

For $230 you might as well buy a third party sensor.
