    Is it possible to add a firewire(1394) on 4:3 T61 or T61p?

I like 4:3 14.1' T61 or T61p, but I do need a firewire port for video editing. I'm just wondering is it possible to add firewire port or card on it? I know it sounds silly question?
    Thanks.

It looks like the 4:3 T61 does not have it as an option. I am not a 100% sure about the T61p but it looks like all T61p have firewire. As an alternative you can always use a firewire PCMCIA or Express card to add the ports.

No, only the widescreen T61p models have firewire (15.4" and 14.1"). The 4:3 14" T61p does not have firewire.

I was answering wave's post ;). The firewire is not included beacuse it probably didn't fit in the smaller chassis.

I have the 14.1 4:3 T61p and on the front there's a little cover plate where the firewire port would be. I wonder if it's an add-on module that is or will be available at some point.

I've been searching the web in vain for a double height (type III) Cardbus firewire adapter and *no one* makes one. It actually amazes me. The only ones I can find are ones that hang out the side or that have dongles. I'd think there would be a market for an adapter that mounts flush and there's plenty of room for a firewire port on a double height card.

If anyone has seen such a card, please let me know.

do some research before you decide to got the pcmcia or expresscard route. I do audio editing and have had a *!@ of a time getting things to sync up right w/ my MOTU hardware. Enough to make me think of selling my T60 and getting a z61 (earlier chipset, but it's 14" w/ firewire, and svideo).
