When ordered T61p, I didn't know that Bluetooth was useful for me. But, it turned out it would be very useful because now I have a Bluetooth mouse.

So, is it possible to manually upgrade Bluetooth feature on my T61p? If Bluetooth card or part for T61 can be purchased from Lenovo, is there any way to add on my T61p?

    Thanks.

You can purchase a Bluetooth via USB adapter..plugs into your usb port.

    Sure.

Go to Staples and buy a $25 USB Bluetooth module.

Otherwise, no. Lenovo cannot "add" Bluetooth to your machine after the fact.

Though I suppose you could go through the repair department and have the motherboard replaced with a Bluetooth version. Is built-in Bluetooth worth $500 to you?

It maybe more convenient to get something that fits into the PC Card slot. I don't really know the details, but I don't think it would stick out of the notebook like the wife cards do. So you could just leave it in there all the time. Not sure how it affects battery life.

wow, that's the smallest usb device I've ever seen, really nice. You're right, that could stay in forever. Wonder if they'll have a short range bluetooth usb adaptor with the same form factor.

you should have paid the extra $30 for bt....now you will have to deal with a BT device sticking out of ure usb...always try to future-proof an expensive purchase

the reason I say this is because I made the same mistake on my previous notebook and regretted it everyday....the usb bluetooths (i have a belkin) have all sorts of issues when compared to an integrated one...they loose connection easily, etc.
