Hello folks, Happy New Year!
I have a used T530 and its screen resolution is 1366x768.
I plan to buy a 1920x1080 screen from eBay (such as this one 15 6" 1920x1080 LED Screen for Lenovo ThinkPad T530 LCD Laptop | eBay) to replace this screen.
I would like to know whether it is a difficult thing to replace the screen and update software accordingly. It would be great if pointers for such things can be provided.
Thanks and regards!

I'd look up the hardware maintenance manual, but no it's not difficult. I think your 1366 screen will require the lcd cable to be replaced also, so you'd need to take off the palmrest/keyboard and reroute a higher res cable. I'm sure youtube or a more knowledgeable poster can give you better directions.

That said, it's really simple, and no, you don't have to change the cable. In parts lookup, there was only one cable, for all the screen variations.
Here's a youtube video -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3vaSuYHziM
But basically, all you do is remove the screw covers at the bottom of the screen bezel, (put them on the edge of a glass, so you can reuse them,) unscrew the two screws underneath, and then gently pry the bezel off.
You might also look at the company you're buying the screen from on eBay -- a lot of them have videos showing you how to do it.
All told, this takes about 15 minutes.MDDZ likes this. -
I did this switch for a coworker last year on a t520 (should be similar on a 30), if you had the 1600x900 screen I think the task would take 15 min as the screens are a direct swap.
1) take off keyboard
2) take off palmrest
3) remove lcd bezel
4) remove lcd (carefully remove the lcd cable on the back of the lcd).
5) carefully remove the lcd cable from motherboard, very carefully you don't want to damage the mobo connector
6) route new fhd cable flex cable, make sure the routing is correct and nothing is pinched
7) connect new lcd, and go backwards to put everything together.
Again there are more knowledgeable people and I'd wait for their confirmation that this is what to do as the 30 series might be different.
Much like the xda android forums like to say, I take no responsibility if you happen to brick your laptop.
It's actually simple to do, if you do it the first time just go slow.MDDZ likes this. -
Two things here:
1) The screen in the feebay link is a compatible one, not a real AUO. I'd pass. Not to mention the "2-5 dead pixel policy", where Lenovo will replace the LCD for anything more than 2 dead pixels if the machine is under warranty.
Genuine AUO V4 panels found in these machines have been out of production for a while now, and sourcing one for a reasonable amount of money is not going to be easy.
2) The OP can keep their current LCD cable as fair as I know.
Good luck. -
