Is it a bad idea to actually put use to the 16GB SSD that came with the Y500?

First, I'd like to start out with.. Why is this not 16GB? It is 24.9GB... what the heck?
I never noticed that until right now..

Second, I know this might sound stupid, but is this SSD actually for use? Like I put After Effects/Photoshop on this will it still function properly? I really do not know anything about these and I don't want to harm the bootup speed or anything..

    Any information would be great..

What you are seeing there isn't the SSD, that's a 25GB partition off the 1TB drive. The SSD doesn't show up in My Computer so you can't use it. If you look in Disk Management you'll see it in there.

That partition has all your drivers on it. Also, when you open 'OneKey Recovery' it should locate on that disk (to make a backup) so that you can make a backup of your current setup on that partition.

Once you have your system messed up and you want to restore it, you will have 2 options: One to do the manufacturer restore (That is when you received your system by default) and the second one is to select manually your current backup already described above.

Sweet I didn't even know about this, and wondered why they partitioned off 25GB instead of 1GB as that woulda been enough for the small amount of drivers they have on there lol. This OneKey Recovery, is this an application installed on the system? I don't recall seeing it.

It also has the mcafee program on it. Why is that if its for what you stated? Just wondering.
