    ... that on Thinkpads, the ribbon cable for the LCD is so unprotected and clearly visible? Has anybody had any bad experiences with damaging the cable? And in the case that it does get damaged, is it easy to replace?

    This X200 is my first Thinkpad ever, and I love it. But this is the only build quality concern that I ever had.. so I'd like to hear about it from you guys :)

    I haven't heard of anyone having problems come up over long term use. One user had to have it replaced, but I think it was not properly installed from the factory.

    I am basing on that on the fact that the x200 has just been out about a year now and I remember someone having to replace it quite a while ago. I haven't seen anyone else mention it since or recently except you.
