    Hi,

I need to buy a new battery for my boyfriend's T60p.
I ordered from Lenovo and paid for 2nd delivery cause it's his birthday on Sat and today I checked on the status and those ******* won't deliver til August 8...
    So I cancelled the order:

Does anyone have any advice on where I can find a seller that has the battery in stock? I wanted a 9cell, but at this point I'll be content with 6cell...

Also, everytime I google T60p battery, all those sites pop up where they sell batteries that are "compatible" with the T60p - they are not the "original" Lenovo batteries.
Are they as good as the original battery or can they possibly cause damage to the laptop?

    I'd appreciate any advice asap

    Thanks a lot
    KC

i have yet to see a non oem for any electronics device work as good as the original. some really do but IMO most are junk. warranty or not they still never hold as good as the original. its worth the extra money to get an OEM>.

I must agree with previous two replies. When it comes to batteries go OEM.
Even though they are not made by them (DELL, LENOVO, HP etc) the standards they set for their suppliers are pretty high and if they experience too many failures by one of their suppliers guess what.... ;)

Try CDW.... they occasionally have OEM batteries in stock and ready to ship.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say...

I bought two non-OEM batteries and in "my" experience both have turned out really well at fantastic prices with amazing performance. I bought one for my HP DV 2000 series notebook a year ago, 12 cell battery worked perfectly, I monitored the battery's performance daily in RMclock and never once did "mwh" decrease in the past 10 months that I've used the battery. The battery still lasts 5-6hrs on max battery setting.

I recently got a new battery for my lenovo X60s, 8 cell battery (non-OEM) so far worked out great never had a problem, no signs of problems, battery lasts about 6-7hrs and the combination of my previous 8 cell (original lenovo battery which still lasts 6-7hrs) gives me a total of 12-14hrs of battery life on max battery setting with two batteries. (not the longest battery life in the world, but works perfectly fine by me).

The best part about this experience has been the price. I bought the lenovo battery 8 cell extended for less than half the price of the original OEM version. For the HP battery, the price I paid was 40% less than the OEM version.

In summary, non-OEM batteries in my experience have worked out really well. My computers haven't died suddenly with power shortages, they haven't exploded suddenly, experienced any issues with power supplies, or have seen a decrease in battery performance. I have nothing but positive experience with non-OEM batteries. (And I hope I'm not the only one out there...)

The two places where I shopped for batteries are...

Personally I will only use the original battery. there are to many stories of 3rd party baterries catching fire and not working as they suppose to

    Hey,

    thanks everyone for the input.
I took a plunge and ordered from CTI.
$115 + horrendous shipping costs (if you need it fast that is)...
Supposedly the batterie is in stock - I'll find out Tuesday!

    Thanks again
