Does anyone with a WXGA+ screen need to increase the text size?

lol I have to increase the text at 800x600...

normal people usually fine WXGA+ to be the sweet spot. not to small, yet there is still a decent amount of screen real estate

    WXGA+ is fine for 14"

For smaller size screens you might need to up the text size.

In my opinion, WXGA is the perfect resolution for a 14" but thats what my eyes prefer.

Well, IMO the higher the resolution is, the better (pictures are sharper). You can always change the font size to large or extra large in the display properties.

I love WXGA+ (1440x900 resolution) on 14.1 and 15.4" notebooks. WXGA (1280x800) is fine on a 14.1", but text and icons are almost TOO big on a 15.4 WXGA.

I recently sold my ThinkPad R61 14.1" and it had the WXGA+ display. I had no trouble with the text and font sizes most of the time. Once in a while, I'd visit a site with text that was a bit tough to read, but Firefox makes it easy to enlarge it using CTRL with the + or - keys.

I use Excel constantly throughout the day and the WXGA+ made it so much easier to work with larger spreadsheets! WXGA+ actually gives you about 26% more visible area than WXGA, which is what makes it so awesome!

Beware of WUXGA (1920x1080) 15.4" displays, though. They cost a lot and and the text and icons are microscopic!

    Hope this helps!

    Personal matter, yes.

I would be fine with 140 DPI (x200s). Same (actually, 5% bigger) as a 15,4" wuxga I used for a month in 2005, which tops at 147 DPI. It just happens that I prefer high resolution screens, even if I need to increase the text size.

I normally run native resolutions, but when it comes to smaller screens i have have a hard time reading text.

    NBR views great on WXGA+

Man... I don't think I could stand that. WAY too low of a resolution for me. :p

    I'd want WSXGA+ on a 14.1" Widescreen. :D (Currently have SXGA+ on a 14.1" Standard.)
