I got a ThinkPad R61i with the regular looking LCD screen. I just bought an ThinkPad SL500 for my bro. In the description is says that screen is WXGA AntiGlare. Is this the same type of screen as my R61i or is it the plastic glassy looking type of screen, which is ofter referred as TrueBrite Technology?

Can't call Lenovo because they're closed now. Go figure.

AntiGlare is matte. The other type is glossy.

The R61i has a matte (non-glossy/anti-glare). If the SL500 specs show it has an Anti-Glare, it is the same type of display as R61i (not glossy).
