    Hey everyone,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a T440p or a T440s Thinkpad, but have one main question left.

Is T440p with NVIDIA 730m worthless using Lenovo Ultra Dock? Ive read and see the document where the NIVIDA does not get used when in the docking station, only the Intel 4400 integrated card.

There are a few non-intensive games Id like to play, but would play them while docked 80% of the time, and even then I dont play games that much at all. I'm more concerned about my 27" External monitor with 2560x1600 resolution and my other 1980x1200 Monitor. Thats all... if Intel can push those do I need NVIDIA?

If that's the case, is getting T440p pointless if that is my only deciding factor?

I need to make decision today, so any and all info ASAP is truly appreciated! Thank you in advance for everyone's help!

I don't know the answer to your question, but why not bypass the dock on the rare occasion that you play games? I think the docks are cool, but don't plan on getting one because... Well, they're expensive and I can plug/unplug several cables in a heartbeat and save hundreds! Unless you need more screens at once, or something that the dock is really needed for, I'd rather have the extra graphics horsepower in case I need it.

    You guys ninja'd me.

But yeah, the way the vast majority of laptops work is that the Intel GFX is used as the graphics controller while the GeForce just processes the graphics. Hence why you can't run ShadowPlay on laptops (yet).

However a handful of laptops can directly output via Nvidia, such as Alienware 18, Clevo P series and Lenovo Y510p SLI edition.
