Ordered my T400 a few days ago, and am pretty excited about getting it. Got a pretty good discount with codes, FW cash back, and cash back from my credit card.

The only thing I found strange was that they charged me tax. I didn't think they had a location in Massachusetts. Am I missing something?

I poked around Lenovo's website and found this: "Since Lenovo operates in all 50 states it must, by law, charge your state's sales tax..."

I suppose if you have it shipped to a state that doesn't charge sales tax, you can save money that way too. I should have shipped it to my cousin in NH..

lenovo is operating nationwide, so they would charge you sales tax.
I did an experiment in apple's online store, they also charge sales tax.
    same reason i guess.
