My friend's T400 has 9-cell battery which full charge capacity was only 72Wh (wear 13%). I have Power Manager gauged it, and after 6 hours running, now the battery's full charge capacity is only ...69Wh.

I don't know if I was mistaken, or gauge reset function was bad. Is there a chance for me to recover the battery?

The Power Manager reported values are not necessarily perfect. To recalibrate the battery, you can drain your battery to 0% (easiest way to do so is to leave it in the BIOS) and then charge it up again, however, doing so will incur a bit of wear on your battery.

My advice is to forget about the 3Wh difference and just use your Thinkpad. Just make sure you're practicing good battery health-preserving procedure (ie: don't constantly charge up to 100%, avoid repeatedly draining the battery to 0%, etc).
