I know the flexview offers much better viewing angles, colors etc... but how about brightness?

I am looking for a new notebook (I have a T41 now) where I can very comfortably work on balconies/patios for a few hours with no strain on the eyes. It has to be VERY bright.

I tried a normal T60 outdoors, and although brighter than my T41, it was not nearly bright enough for extended use. Is the FlexView bright enough?

    Thx!

Yeah probably not even as bright as most consumer grade notebooks- check it out next to this display in DCF's N200 Review.

Dominates the 200 on viewing angles, contrast, color, and brightness uniformity; but not quite as bright.

Forget about the "regular" notebook screens, Flexview or not.
LED notebook panels will meet your needs much, much better.
They should come in mass at the end of this year.

Thanks, do you happen to know if that is the case with T-series as well?
    (or just an assumption?)

They'll have no choice if they want to compete.
    But it won't happen overnight.
They'll charge a pretty penny for the privilege at first.

Not brighter... but much more smooth, color-accurate, dense and easier on your eyes.

Brightness isn't everything. In fact, it's about the least important attribute. Just as with HDTV's if you understand that.
