Ever since I installed my warranty replacement hard drive I've been having Internet connectivity problems.
My wireless will be connected for hours, but then after a while, the blue globe in the wireless icon in the notification area will turn into the yellow yield sign. I try disconnecting and re-connecting to my wireless, does nothing. I try diagnose and repair and that does nothing as well.
The only solution I know so far is to restart my computer, at which point the wireless icon has the red X. At this point, I do diagnose and repair, and it says "Turn On Wireless Capability." I do that, it repairs itself, and works for the next few hours.
It is extremely annoying, especially when trying to run programs that require Internet overnight cause they'll stop partway through the night.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and potential solutions. I know it is the computer and not the network because it has happened on multiple networks I've been connected to.
Thanks and let me know what additional info you may need.

What wireless card do you have? Do you have the latest drivers for it?
-
43Y6496 43Y6495 WLAN 5300 CARD
The Intel 5300 802 AGN -
Have you installed the latest drivers? One of the later driver revisions updated a network-drop issue that was fairly common before, although I didn't have any problems before the update.

I just installed the latest one. I should know by tomorrow if that solves the problem.
Thanks. -
^^I usually just install the drivers and skip the intel wireless manager software. Never had an issue with windows managing my connections unlike the intel software.

resetting the router sometimes fixes the problem mentioned above, but i dont know why

regarding the wireless card, what is the difference between the 5100 and the 5300?
