    Hi everyone,

I am currently residing in Sydney Australia, and a while back bought an R60e, as a curious person I went to check out the US Lenovo website recently and was astounded to see how much cheaper laptops are.
Apart from warranty issues has anyone imported an US Thinkpad laptop?

I would be interested to hear from people that have done this, how it was done, which companies do, opinions etc, beacuse, if it can be successfully done I would like to purchase my next Thinkpad from the US.

Yes I did. I am from the Netherlands, Europe. Bought a T61 at www.euclidcomputers.com

Very fast shipping (four days, wherefrom one a saturday and one a sunday)

Customs did add 19% VAT, unfortunately.

After all, compared to the prices in my own country, I saved € 475, included bankcosts, shippingcosts, VAT.

Not that bad huh, on a 1500 euro total :)

    JCVJCVJCVJCV,
Thanks for your reply, I will check out the website... it sounds like you saved some serious dough. I love the 'T' series but unfortunatley the price here has kept me from purchasing one in Australia (approx AUD$3K ~ USD 2,474.12).
