    InterVideo DVD on the T400

    since i have GOM player, do i need InterVideo DVD that came with the T400??
    because when i try to uninstall InterVideo DVD, it says it may cause other programs to not function..

    is it okay to uninstall InterVideo DVD on the T400?

    It should be just fine. The only thing I can think an uninstall could do is prevent you from using Windows Media player from playing DVDs, and that would only happen if no remaining MPEG-2 codecs were installed (which would be a fixable problem).

    I don't know anything about GOM player myself; I usually just install the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and use Windows Media Player, or alternatively, something like VLC or Media Player Classic.

    Unless you get a codec pack with DVD decoding support for a wide range of DVDs, you will lose DVD playback capability. But, I got the Vista Codec Pack, which is serving me fine in the absence of InterVideo. I previously used K-Lite, but it was not working for some DVDs.

    No other program is dependent on InterVideo.
