I have a Y580, but I believe there are dozens of Lenovo laptops using the same board and audio setup.

My question is about which is better. Getting audio through HDMI or through the Optical cable?

I know HDMI beats Optical cable in most cases, but that depends on what the hardware supports as well. I am completely clueless on the audio support of both. Any advice?
