I know the problem is not with my router because my other non-Lenovo computers with Wireless N cards are getting signals much above 54.0MBPS. Is there something I have to enable or do you guys have any ideas? I have all the latest drivers installed.

Bump... Any ideas? Please provide detailed instructions...

I remember reading on the Intel driver release notes that you can only get above 54Mbps if you use AES encryption. Have you tried that?
-
Which os are you using?
What encryption do you use? Rate above 54 will only work with WPA2. -
Are you having trouble getting a detected signal above 54mbit or...thoroughput above it?

InfyMcGirk and maxsquared are asking the right questions.

Well your original post you say your card isn't getting signals much above 54mbit...Now are you just talking about when it shows your signal strength and it might be x amount of bars an that equates to a displayed "speed?" Or are you saying your transfer speeds (thoroughput) is not going above 54mbit and you assume it should since you are trying to use N. Anyways look into the whole encryption thing others mentioned. I was just trying to find out what you were describing as the issue.

Actually, the problem could be with your router - as in, if it is not a 5 ghz router. Most of the N cards on the market will kludge together 2 - 2.6 mhz channels on a 2.6 N router, and do higher speeds. Intel decided to stay with strict draft 'N' standards in their driver, and it does not allow 2 channels on 2.6 routers - must have 5 mhz router. This is driver related. Some of the oldest Intel drivers for the 4965 did allow channel combining, 'cause they wanted to market the chip. In newer versions of the driver they got religious and disabled it.
