My understanding is that all Sandy Bridge laptops with the Intel gpu should support WiDi. It seems strange then that I have found no mention of WiDi with lenovo's new line of thinkpads. I found this support link, which appears to contain the necessary software for enabling WiDi on these laptops:

Lenovo Support - Intel Wireless Display for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad

I realize thinkpads are geared towards business people, but this seems like it would still be very useful for a lot of people.

If you order with the correct intel wireless, (6200 or 6300 series), they should work with WiDi on any sandy bridge i5 or i7 model with the integrated HD 3000 graphics.

You still need the external box though, which is about $100.
