I have a Y580 paired with my netgear PTV2000 for WiDi support. Every once in a while, I get connection drops when playing video. Has anyone seen this issue and know how to resolve it? I have tried changing my Router's wifi channel from 6 to 1 or 11 to avoid signal collision but that did not solve the issue. Thanks in advance.

If you happen to have an android smartphone, there is an app called Wifi Analyzer and it will show you all the different wifi signals it picks up and on what channel those signals are operating. It will make a recommendation which channel will have the least interference. Could be worth a shot.

Dunno if similar apps exist for other smartphones.

Otherwise I have no other recommendations.

i bet no one else here uses widi.

    Too rich for my blood
I'd rather use a 30ft hdmi cable. much much cheaper

I also don't care for costs, but I really like the WiDi concept for movie streaming. for games I agree this is not a good solution, considering also that it relies on integrated graphics. hopefully someone has a solution for my issue.

turn off all sources of wifi interference? all phones, routers, ...

a quick google says widi is susceptible to that
