    Hi all,

I had a BSOD pointing to NETwNs64.sys. So the first step would to check if there any latest drivers available. here the mess comes:

    1. ThinkVantage shows no available drivers as such.
    2. The Lenovo support site shows no N 6300 drivers for W520.
    3. This page N 6300 shows the latest drivers, but W520 is not listed in the list of suported models - only W530.
    4. Then we go to the Intel support site only to get even a bigger mess. The product d/l page lists outdated drivers (13.5.0.6), older that the currently installed at my laptop (14.3.0.6).

So where should I d/l the latest version?

    Thanks

Anyway... found the correct link with the latest N 6300 AGN drivers here

Seems to be working fine so far. Why Lenovo cannot list these drivers on W520 support page to make our lives easier?

Now I have 6300 AGN driver 15.1.1.1 installed, presumably the latest one. Then I launchThinkVantage driver update application. Guess what? It offers me to update the WiFi 6300 AGN card to a version 14.3.0.6. No comments.

Glad you paid attention. :) (1) If it aint broke, leave it alone. (2) Do updates selectively and manually.

    Right.

(At one point, I thought mucking around with the machine was a proof of my existence. Now, my existence has been largely disproven. So... :D)

It is there on the Lenovo support page... You just have to click on "details" or "more info" and it says that particular driver supports the 6300.

"This package installs the software (Wireless LAN driver and utility) to enable the following devices:

    Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2200 Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN + WiMAX 6250 Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN"

Wait, so I'm confused. I have the 6300 card on my T520 and am running the same version as the OP. I don't have an issues, but of course I like to always run the latest and greatest!

Should I update 14.3.0.6 to 15.1.1? It's a half gig update on Lenovo's site and anywhere between a 25mb and 70mb version on Intel's site (which one is correct and why the difference?)

    I'd leave it alone.

    Then go right for it.

Haha, I knew that was coming. So, say I go for it. Which driver is the correct one?

Edit: I decided on the 70mb one from Intel's site since the 500mb Lenovo driver doesn't list the T520 as compatible. Not confusing at.all.

Yes, it is there, but... see my original post #2. The W520 is not listed in the list of supported models. Also, why the hell half a gig? What cr@p will lenovo install together with the driver? I installed the package of only 72MB directly from Intel including a nice graphical shell application (file name Wireless_15.1.1_s64.exe).

That's my bad. Thought you had trouble finding it for W530. :p

It is actually quite interesting point. I noticed many times ridiculous sizes of Lenovo update packages 400-800MB vs 20-70MB from vendors' sites. What is going on here? Chinese intelligence in action?

No clue. I installed the 70mb version from Intel's site and all is well.
