Open the Intel Matrix storage console. Options should be in there to switch on Readydrive and Readyboost.

I don't see any options for ready drive or readyboost in the Matrix storage console even on advanced view.

May be a dumb question, but did you actually select the Turbo Memory option when you originally configured and purchased your machine?

You know what, i didn't do that because someone told me it was an external hard ware. Didn't realize Lenovo had the option of excluding that flash chip :(

In that case don't worry about it too much, you're not missing out on much. Spend that extra cash you saved and buy some nice ram, it will be better in the long run in my opinion.

I replaced the ram it came with with two fresh sticks of 2gb (4gb total) ram. One of my friend says I should go spend 30 bucks and buy the intel memory module on amazon and install it myself. He claims it gives 40% boost in start up speed and 20% in application startup.

what is everyone's experiences with turbo memory? is it really worth it?

most on this forum have a problem with turbo memory and are haters. if you want to dabble just use a readyboost flash drive or sd card. the newer larger turbo memory chips will be out soon. not sure on the compatability with the current hardware but should work. i would only buy it if you have $40 to burn, otherwise, save your $$$ for some more needed components.

+1 for don't bother. Get 4GB of ram first. If you want a little more get 4GB SD 133x-150x card. Want a tiny weenie bit more get the turbo memory.
