I was looking at the T400 as always, but I was wondering why the 2.53GHz processor is now the same price as the 2.40Ghz?

    • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) 25W
    • Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8700 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) [add $0.00]
    • Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8800 (2.66GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) [add $45.00]
    • Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9600 (2.8GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2) [add $108.00]
    • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P9500 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2) 25W [add $202.50] [Lenovo recommended]
    • Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9900 (3.06GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2) [add $337.50]

When I got my T500, it was a bug in the site, which they fortunately honored - take advantage of it while you can ;)

Either by accident, or they have a sale or an influx of stock for the superior P8700.

The P8700 is supposed to replace the P8600 at the same price point so I'm glad that they are following through with the savings to the customer.

ours is not to reason why... if you see a bargain just jump at it! When Lenovo started offering the P8800 a month or so ago I was able to get one for the same price as a P8700.

Regardless the performance difference is not one to worry about despite whatever you may feel about potential price savings. So get it if you can but don't worry about it if you don't.
