Thinking about buying a Y550 for $528, but it comes with the Intel GMA 4500M UMA graphic card. Is this card good for tasks like web surfing, word processing, light gaming, and recording software (adobe audition)? If I go for the nVidia Geforce G 210M graphic card with 512MB memory there is a jump in price to $675. Not sure if it is worth it.
Also, my main fear of buying from anyone other than costco (I believe they have a 90 day no questions asked return policy) is the dead pixel issue. I would hate to plunk down some cash and end up with dead pixels, and not be able to return the laptop. How does Lenovo rate in this category? Have any Lenovo owners had issues with dead pixels or am I overly worried about something that rarely occurs?

Define "light gaming". The GMA 4500 is plenty for all the tasks you listed and very light (e.g. flash or old) games. However, if you're definition of light gaming trends to newer games that recommend discrete GPUs then you may have trouble.

I'm also think about GMA4500 or G210M. Is the GMA4500 good enough for 1080 HD video? I don't do games on it.

Thanks, a lot. One more thing is that it just shows GMA 4500M on lenovo'w website. Are you sure it's GMA 4500MHD on Y550?
